Tennessee List

Tennessee List

Postby redshorts47 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:59 am

After finding 38 possible places that might make the list and calling each one to confirm, there is a total of 17 that fit the bill for the Views and Brews challenge. Several we're closed or don't serve food, many didn't brew on site. Here's the list of places that do.

Here's the list of the 17 confirmed brewpubs for TN's list

1. Big River Grille and Brewing Works- Chattanooga
2. Big River Hamilton Place- Chattanooga
3. McHale's Brewhouse- Chattanooga
4. Terminal Brewhouse- Chattanooga
5. Blackhorse Pub and Brewery- Clarksville
6. Cool Springs Brewing Company- Franklin
7. Calhoun's Bearden Hill- Knoxville
8. Downtown Grille and Brewery- Knoxville
9. Smoky Mountain Brewing- Knoxville
10. Bosco's Squared Brewing Company- Memphis
11. O'Possum's Pub and Brewery- Murfreesboro
12. Big River Grill and Brewing Works- Nashville
13. Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery- Nashville
14. Bosco's Nashville Brewing- Nashville
15. Fat Bottom Brewery- East Nashville
16. Yazoo Brewing- Nashville
17. Smoky Mountain Brewing- Pigeon Forge
A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Thanks Lee, a virtual beer for you! :toast:

I will move this to the Tennessee section, hopefully soon...

So given 17, the minimum would be 17*.75 = 12.75 ==> 12

No problem Tom. I'm currently enjoying my virtual beer :toast: :D

Now that I have the list set I'm just starting to research the hikes. I imagine there's plenty of places to go see and do in Memphis and Nashville. Definitely not a country fan but I'm very excited about visiting Nashville. I imagine our trip will be done with doing the ones in Nashville and Chattanooga. Doing a long hike or a couple smaller hikes including Clingmans Dome (state highpoint) the next day in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and then head up to Knoxville through Pigeon Forge to finish up.

Lee, I created the forum (here) and a state page, http://viewsandbrews.com/tn

Please take a look and tell me if I made any mistakes.

It's not all there yet, but it's a start. I know I have to fix the map links.

Someone tell me if they can post to this category...

Happy to help out in your summer plans. We're very excited about going down there to visit Siobhan's Grandmother and to explore the states Views and Brews. I found a bunch of hiking/walking spots near each of the city's/towns that the brewpubs are grouped in.

For Blackhorse Pub and Brewery in Clarksville there is

Dunbar Cave State Park
Rotary Park
Clarksville Greenway

For Bosco's Squared Brewing Company in Memphis there is

Nesbit Park(seen it spelled Nesbitt as well and is known locally as Stanky Creek) I like Nesbitt personally
Shelby Farms Park

For the brewpubs in and around Nashville there is

Percy Warner Park
Radnor Lake Nature Park and Wildlife Refuge

For the brewpubs in Knoxville there is

Sharps Ridge Memorial Park
Concord Park

For Smoky Mountain Brewing in Pigeon Forge there is

Abram Falls @ Cade's Cove in The Great Smoky Mountain National Park
Great Smoky Mountain National Park

For the brewpubs in Chattanooga there is

Prentice Cooper State Forest (looks like Snooper Rock is a favorite one there)
Chattanooga Riverwalk also known as the Tennessee Riverpark

I would have included the links to all these places but I'm on my iPhone. Hope this helps

Lee, if you already have them, that helps immensely. No rush.

For that matter, I could give you access to updating the list if you feel inspired. You don't have to know web programming, it's just filling in a table with information and links. Ask Paul, it's easy!

Sounds easy enough but I don't have a computer right now. I will try sending the links when I get a chance

Did you have a list of pubs and their URLs? If not, I can do it, don't dredge it up if you don't have it.
